Romanian word order – adjectives (adjectivele)

In English the adjective precedes the noun : a red flower, a big car.

In Romanian the adjective is placed after the noun in most cases: o floare rosie (a red flower), o masina mare(a big car).

There are several exceptions.

Demonstrative, interogative, negative adjectives are placed before noun:

Possesive adjective are placed after the noun, as the others.

Romanian vocabulary mic means small

Mic means small or short.

Mic masculine sing.

Mica feminine sing.

Romanian word of the day: “al naibii” – damn

“Al naibii” can be used instead of bloody or damn!

Al naibii idiot, mi-a distrus seara! Bloody idiot, he ruined my evening!
